Linen Suits

With all the warm weather talk, I am inspired to continue discussing warm weather suit fabrics. I don't have the pleasure of experiencing long summers, and it is far too cool to even think about linen and seersucker at this point. Regardless, I am feeling aw so inspired. I have two linen suits, and as I mentioned earlier, I plan to buy a double breasted brown one. I currently own a white/cream suit exactly like the one pictured above, and I own the shoes as well. In addition, I have a three piece linen suit in khaki. Linen to me is very elegant, and it makes the perfect weekend and leisure suit. I receive numerous compliments every time I sport one of my suits. And considering how debonair the suits make a gentleman look, I plan to stay out of restaurants with dense older women populations :) The photo at the bottom is another piece of perfection from the Sartorialist. I have never considered a patterned linen suit, but this one makes me consider that possibility. I love the ticket pocket and peak lapels. Several of my custom suits have peak lapels. I think it gives a custom suit a little something extra while maintaining a classic appeal. Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts on linen.

Another excellent post, Richard. Linen suits are IT, for me anyway. They are perfect for the Southern California climate. I love the contrast between linen, and pinpoint/oxford cloth or worsted.

The pic of the shaven-headed Italian gent in the linen suit is in my top 5 fave photos at the Sartorialist. What makes it even more delicious is that the guy is wearing suede tassel loafers! That is just an amazing suit. Does anyone here know who makes the cloth? If so, please get in touch.

Great. Now, I have to add a linen suit to the list. Your blog is becoming quite expensive.

I like linen, too, but being a mother of two, I can't see myself looking fresh as a daisy at the end of the day after having giant babies sitting on my lap, drinking milk and eating Goldfish. I am not one of those Juicy Couture sweatsuit wearing moms, though; I like to look neat and put together, even at the playground.

I loves me some linen suits.

I wear them all summer. I love the slightly rumpled look by the end of the day I look a little bit like an extra from EM Forester's Maurice , but that is OK with me!

I am particularly fond of Ecru, Mud, and Chocolate Linen for the summer - and pairing it with hyper crisp white french cuff shirts.

I will always be a fan of linen suits. It's not just about the collection, it's about passion.
