Beautiful Illustration From A Day Long Ago

I can only imagine a time when people dressed like this on vacation. Regardless, I truly desire the suit in the illustration in a brown hue, and I am thinking linen. Beautiful!

I think the original was seersucker. AA/Esky drawings are full of all manner of patterned and colored seersucker.

It would look great in linen too!

Ahhhh....back when smoking was de rigeur. As opposed to today where one feels like a pariah. C'est la vie, things change.

If one could change the pattern on the seated gent's suit and get rid of the effeminate twit on the left, this would be a far better illustration.

Boy, the tied espadrilles and short-shorts are a bit OTT, don't you think?

Seriously? What with the clothes and the "men only" crowd this looks like an illustration of a poolside gathering of inverts from another era. Only thing missing is a bevy of boys playfully snapping towels at each other.

Both looks like a copule of gays in the middle of the fifties decade. I don't like the espadrilles look. And the pattern of the suit it's terrible.

You can find better images to show good are th eold times, when summer was classy; exclusive pools, yatchs, country clubs, etc.
