As soon as I post this photo, I know there will be a half dozen people who will hate these shoes. However, I really enjoy slippers, and I am particularly fond of these motif slippers from Ralph Lauren. I usually prefer initials on my slippers, but I think these would be great in a country setting.

Those slippers are nice enough, but...don't let this blog become an advertising engine for Our Boy Ralph. I love his stuff too and I wear it to death, but you have been a little gushy lately.Just sayin'..
Love the slippers - make a nice change from monograms
Great shoes. For a girl.
A rider on a horse, as shown, inspires a much different reaction than a rider on a polo pony. They look fine to me.
Hate them?
Those are the slippers of life my man!
I just think you would have to accessorize them with a massive country estate, stables, a silk dressing gown, etc., etc., etc.
I believe Edward Green supplies Ralph Lauren Purple Label with their ready-made slippers. As a result, these slippers are very well made and perfectly appropriate. Even so, I prefer the slippers supplied by the London shop of Berk in Burlington Arcade. I suppose it is a nod or even a bow to my taste for English clothes, shoes and furnishings supplied by English purveyors. The most traditional will accept only slippers made to order from Trickers. Americans of a certain stock and background order their slippers from the venerable Palm Beach suppliers Stubbs and Wooten, who create slippers in a range of fabrics and patterns. Wherever one chooses to order them or however extraordinary the resulting pattern they are a necessary addition to any well dressed gentleman's shoe cupboard.
I think wearing an article of clothing with something representative of an interest or hobby is ok as long as it is discreet. For example, I am a Sherlock Holmes enthusiast and I own a navy tie with small white pipes. They are discreet. These shoes/slippers scream out too much. I like Ralph too but some of his stuff is just plain trailer park.
Sorry, Richard....
I like them.
Do you have any JCrew in your wardrobe?
I hate them.
all i can think of is how easily they would be stained on the streets of all metropolises
They aren't meant to be worn on the street. They're Worn at one's house or briefly getting into and out of the car when getting to someone else's house.
I love them, I have a few pairs of slippers that I wear daily.
