Politics can be a touchy subject, but it is undoubtedly a part of the WASP lifestyle. Furthermore, regardless of what you think about John McCain, he can definitely pick some fine looking women to be around him. I was in awe of his beautiful wife, and now with Governor Palin on the ticket, he is without argument the man! I supported him before his vice presidential choice, but now he definitely has the best looking ticket.

Best looking? Maybe. But woefully out of touch with the current politically climate and incapable of providing this country with policies it needs? Definitely.
Senator McCain does have an eye for identifying talented, capable women who just happen to be easy on the eye too.
As for his politics, I think the reform nature of Palin and her notable successes in tackling corruption in Alaska will work. Hell, she's already got more experience than Obama and Biden combined!
Obama, he makes a nice speech, if you like hearing pretty words that mean nothing.
"Obama, he makes a nice speech, if you like hearing pretty words that mean nothing."
History is full of leaders who oratory talent is linked inexplicably with success. Churchill, Roosevelt, Lincoln, Kennedy, Reagan, to name a few. It seems there are 2 dimensions to this success: one is that the person with eloquent speech has a well-developed mind, and the other is that the leader with rousing words inspire people, which is not bad when you plan to lead a nation. On the other side of the coin, a person with difficulty speaking his own English language would have difficulty to lead. Case in point: George W Bush.

I am a regular vistor to your blog, I can see that that you are a republican voter by choice, as you have published the picture of John McCain's wife and his running mate, it would have been fair if you have published the picture of Michelle Obama too knowing fuly well who she is as well.
When we bloggers read through your blog we don't discriminate between democrats or republicans, neither do we discrimate between black and white race, we all share the same passion for wasp clothing, so please feel free to put up the picture of Michelle Obama which shows her glamorous beauty and classic way of dressing.
chucky,
Obviously, I am Republican and I occasionally let my political colors show, but I also try to not directly criticize the other side. I think politics is part of the WASP lifestyle, and I have featured Democrats like FDR and JFK for their classic style. That being said, I don't claim to be fair and balanced like Fox News, and it will be a cold day in hell before I give Obama or his wife any props whatsoever. I will just leave it at that in respect to fellow Democrat readers because you are right, we all share a common love of the WASP lifestyle and I want to keep it that way.
Richard, I just found your blog and I love it!! We are waayyy different, mostly because I am a woman, but want you to know I find your posts quite charming. (I, too am Republican and very, very proud of it!) As soon as I can figure out how to do it (or when my teenage son has time to show me how to do it), I'd like to link your blog to mine, with your permission of course.

kathie,
I would be honored! Good luck with your new blog.
I will remain mum on the subject of Cindy and Michelle (not that we're on Christian name basis or anything), but I must say Palin piques my interest.
I find that both Palin and Mrs McCain have that certain, dyed hair, nail extensions, more is better, Corvette loving, lets lock and load and go shoot something, Christian rock thing going on. Which I do not find attractive in women. But hey, less competition for you.
To Pete: "More experience than Obama and Biden combined"? WTH? Biden has been a Senator since 1972, when Palin was 8.Before 2 years ago, Palin was a PTA President, then a Mayor of a town of a little over 6,000.
lol - guess you never heard the phrase don't judge a book by her cover. At least she lives up to the good ol gop hypocrisy!

I forgot to mention I wasn't a democrat.
/not republican either
White trash ho's.
On matters sartorial we may find agreement. But your politics and your taste in women are both sorely lacking. Obama is the only alternative to a future loaded with the same bombastic meaningless militaristic jingoistic claptrap perpetrated in the last 10 years. Stick to the treads and leave the big stuff well alone. Thank you.
you.cannot.be.serious.
I just came across your blog and now am promptly leaving. Waspy? Both of them are trashy trash trash.
Sarah Pain is everything WASPs are not: she's vulgar, low-rent, badly spoken, and obsessively religious. I love your blog, and I agree that Cindy McCain is WASP-dom personified, but Sarah Palin belongs behind the wheel of a pickup with "I Honk For The Rapture" on the bumper sticker.
Real class comes from someone who is not neccessarily wealthy, but has learned how to spend without flaunting. A real wasp is classy, well educated, sophisticated, well dressed, etc. Sarah Palin is none of these things. She might be the best looking woman in politics, but thats not saying much. I, and I'm sure everyone I know, would shun her if she came to our club. People with no class are not welcome.
Egads man, why did you have to take it to this level? Like many others in this post, I thought this was a blogg about a lifestyle. When did we move off the mark and get into the political spectrum?
As an Afro-American who has lived amongst your kind all his life, I thought that WASP’s has moved beyond the pettiness of differences. I would say that I’m not so sure, but from reading the replies I can see that I am wrong, well half-wrong anyway.
That’s the problem with the world. It’s the WASP, thinking that they are better then everyone else in the world. After reading one of your other bloggs about how, each race in this country has this and that; granted it was from a movie, but I didn’t see the relevance of it being here, I begin to think that I was wrong about you.
OFRB, or whatever it was called, that you advised everyone to read, I can understand that. But what I didn’t understand was why it needed to be mentioned that the “Wasp” sections were only what you were really interested in?
Know this, there are A LOT of super wealthy Americans today. No they are not all from “Old Money”; which I’m really starting to doubt you are as well, but I’ll get to that later. A lot of these people I know from my time in Palm Beach, and other places across the globe are nothing like you.
Now to why I have sneaking suspicion, you aren’t from “Old Money.”
People with “Old Money” do not flaunt it, and would never think of making up a blogg to basically brag about the latest pair of Alden’s they have just purchased. Take me for instance, because I live in the South and I am black, you may not want me to be apart of any of your groups, and that’s fine. However, what you don’t know about me is I am an educated; great schools all my life, entrepreneur, a farmer, and a polo club owner. But that doesn’t make you better then me, or me better then my neighbors. And your bloggs are starting to stink of it.
Now you may want to kick me off your site, and you have that right. You also have the right to write about anything you’d like on your blogg. However, know that your readers are not puppets, and will not agree on everything you write. So can we get back to talking about clothing?
Richard, I was reading back through some old posts due to your current May hiatus! Palin is and will always be hick dressed as chic ! The fact that you people actually accepted Palin as a viable choice for VP is frightening. Richard, we share the same views on style for the most part but obviously not politics! Hope to see your return soon !
