Rainy Days

photo: Ralph Lauren

Rainy days are gloomy, but one can certainly keep their spirits high by owning a quality rain coat and adding touches of color to the outfit. In this photo, the argyle, green cords, and yellow socks enhance the neutral khaki color of the raincoat. Throw on a tweed cap, and grab a country inspired plaid umbrella and your set.

What's an above-the-knee length raincoat doing on a WASP site?

An above-the-knee version is only barely suitable for a member of the fair sex.

Only a full-length classic raincoat is de rigueur; not even a three-quarter length one.

Lay off the Polo ads, already.

Sheesh! I'm beginning to think this blog is a viral R.L. ad campaign.

Sorry, Richard, I'm startin' to agree with the critics. This is a 'fashion' shot, not a wasp outfit. Number 1, the pants are way too short, which is cool for 'fashion', but definitely not for a crisp, classic look.

Is that argyle sweater vest tucked into his cord trousers?

Since when did that become permissible under WASP regulations?

If you cant say anything nice...

I like the yellow socks and the loafers.

Short pants have been preferred by aristocrats for several centuries. See Viscount Bolingbroke, Henry St. John of England.

this is what I have been saying. This guy is a fraud. POLO IS NOT WASP! RL IS NOT A WASP. RICHARD IS NOT A WASP

RICHO. THIS IS BORING. YOU ARE BORING ME WITH THESE LAZY POLO SNAPS FROM THE WEBSITE. RL IS FASHION. WASP'S HATE FASHION.

I like the tassel loafers.

LB Trad,

They look like kiltie loafers to me, but it may be failing eyesight.

Richard: Care to elaborate of the difference for your readers?

Richard,

Congratulations on allowing WASP 101 to become a blend of a blog and a forum, where there is real interaction taking place among those making comments and not just between them and the blog owner.

Many blog owners wouldn't have the broadmindedness to allow this and would only approve those comments directly addressed to him and only directly related to a particular post.

Your liberal attitude has given a tone to your blog that differentiates it from other WASP/Trad/Ivy blogs.

it's not his pansy liberal attitude, it's just a ralph lauren ad posing as a crappy blog. He probably works for Polo in the factory store.
