Our 5th Wedding Anniversary

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and a safe beginning to the Christmas shopping season. Also, I apologize for not posting late Friday night for the Saturday readers as I promised. We returned way too late from after Thanksgiving shopping, and I was just too tired.

In addition to celebrating Thanksgiving with our family, my wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this past weekend. Five years has moved very quickly, and as my wife so elegantly said today, "We will not be young forever". Anyway, I thought I would take the opportunity my wife gave me to show you what I gave her for our special day. In the photo above, I gave my lovely wife the pearl necklace (a length she did not have), and the beautiful brooch. And, finally, I purchased her both of the oil paintings featured below at one of our favorite shops. I look forward to sharing some other photos with you later in the week, and hopefully everyone has recovered from their abundant feast.

Richard, I love the pearls, and I think the brooch is beautiful. Happy Anniversary to you and Mrs. Richard.

We celebrated our 27th anniversary on Thanksgiving Day, also. We were sailing in the British Virgin Islands and renewed our vows at Virgin Gorda.

Anyway, it's good to be back and your blog was the first one I checked! Kathie

I, for one, don't find the painting hideous at all. They would be at home in any English stately home.

Yeeee haaaa! That's what I'm talkin' about!!!

The paintings would be at "home" in any English house inhabited by proles trying to ape what they perceived to be the tastes of their social betters. They'd get it wrong, of course, just as Dick has.

I think that was her way of saying, "My eggs won't be fertile forever!" I can't say anything nice about the gifts, but I hope the Mrs. enjoys them.

Congrats on the 5th! We are well into our 16th year together and they get better all the time!

I thought your wife had blond hair in an earlier post?
