Cocktail Party Sport Coat

As the air is preparing to grow warmer, it will soon be time for spring cocktails. Cocktail parties are a chance to wear bright and colorful clothing items that the normal work place might not call for. I have truly been impressed with the items offered by J Press of late, and this red chambray sport coat is the perfect cocktail party item. Pair it with white trousers and appropriate shoes, and you are set.

Dig the jacket, but be careful what you pair it with. You don't want to look like an ice-cream man...

I'm not ready to see this on the dashing host. I looked at it for a while on their site but I concluded it is one of those pieces a mans-mans will have a hard time being talked into with any combo. Though I do agree with jp the bow tie is best here.

I still maintain that you are ignorant of your topic hence the vulgar clothing posts.

That jacket would look great with a Harvard crest! You can sew a Harvard crest on that jacket, can't you Richard? I mean, you didn't attend there so its okay, right?

I personally wouldn't wear such a color. It is a tad foppish and, may I dare say, ventures into Miami Vice territory.

The blue chambray is much more pleasant.

Have you finally clued in to the fact that real WASPS don't have wardrobes as chock full of Polo as yours? Or, is Worthington giving you some tips?

I'll probably get clobbered for saying it, but I like the jacket too. Good choice! Problem is, aside from the shirt (pictured) and a madras tie (or no tie at all), I can't imagine what trousers and shoes I would pair with it. I personally would avoid white/cream trousers, but that's just me. Any suggestions?

I have a neighbor who has a linen version purchased in Bermuda which he deploys to great effect! Just the thing.

Impressive, Richard. In just a few sentences, you managed to showcase your inability to employ verb tenses, infinitives, and prepositions.

LBT,

A medium gray trouser would look great.

like the bow tie, like the shirt. The blazr would make one look like a melon that's been pealed.

If you must wear this item, I would loose the tie, keep the shirt, and pair it with madras trousers, and pennies.

Hell for that matter, loose the jacket, and wear the shirt, the madras, and pennies.

Also, real or not, the blog is much fun, so who cares really. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
