I have referenced and posted the infamous Gossip Girl character Chuck Bass on my blog many times. Chuck's style is WASP influenced, and insanely preppy. My favorite ensemble of his is the camel sweater and madras trousers. Very nice!

He is probably one of the worst dressed people I have ever witnessed. Is he trying to channel a 1985 high school girl in the first photo? Truly horrific.
I would be very interested, Richard, to hear your actual reason why these individuals you consider to be the best dressed people on television. I must say, not a single one thus far has even come close to a nightly news anchorman as far as dress goes. Yes, this young man wears clothes that would be considered preppy, but he looks as if he has broken into his brothers closet and is playing dress up.
So, Richard, let's show some of your detractors you know what your talking about. Rather then "Enjoy!" or "Very nice!" how about some actual analysis. Are you up for it?
Its a costume. Plain and simple.
OMG- I guess I am secretly Chuck Bass. Not the money or personality, but I wear some wild stuff just to try.
They look awful, blah blah blah. Just what I expected from many of my detractors. And no, I did not post the really ugly comments. Sure, Chuck Bass is a character and he wears the costumes he is assigned. But what is wrong with his look other than the golfing outfit, which he wore while playing croquet on the show. Minust the shorts and socks, I would wear it. Furthermore, this segment is called best dressed on television, and there are not a lot of options out there. The best in my opinion if I were giving an award would go to Tucker. His style is the most wearable of any of my choices thus far.
Also, this blog seems to be about the Waspy/Prep/Ivy/Trad style of clothing, which GTH is a large part. If you wanna talk newscasters, create your own boring blog...
Yes, no actual insight to offer, as I thought. Also, if there is nothing out there on television to offer in a best dressed category, why do it? It's not as if it is some homework assignment that you have to complete. Why keep it as current television personalities? Why not look to some from the past if there is so little to choose from? Why not do a worst dressed analysis, since the flip side of your comment that there are few well dressed men to choose from is that there are a plethora of poorly dressed men to choose from?
Come on, Richard. If you want to be taken seriously on this thing, then start taking it seriously. A retort of there is nothing to choose from in category you created yourself is just sad and lazy.
Richard,
I don't want to offend you...
but look at this pic:

This outfit is not preppy!
I woud describe it as a persiflage of the preppy style.
Just to much!

OMG, pants to high.
And the shirt doesn't fit!

Notwithstanding: Nice blog - RAE :)
I think he looks ridiculous and I would never wear any of his combinations...the designs are too crazy and people would just make negative comments about my outfit. I don't like to draw too much attention, and I think it's too much to combine argyle, stripes, AND plaids in the same outfit
you're a giant asshole - after a big dump
I don't know about all these gossip girls shots. I nominate the costumes from Star Trek for part 4.
My mother always said, "if you can't say anything good say nothing at all." Something I will practice on this post.
I agree Chuck Bass' dress sense is excellent. However, if he is to carry off the pringle look in the fist photo then perhaps in that episode he should be encouraged to play croquet properly and not strike the ball "side-saddle"
do you know who dresses Chuck Bass? I read it in a magazine once but I forgot and I would LOVE to know!
