A Kid With Style

Photo Credit: New York Home Design

This kid was the topic of many home decor based blogs a while back, and I thought I would post a picture of his dormitory on WASP 101 for his display of WASP style. The hand made oriental rugs, green paint, paisley and plaid, and many eclectic photos and pictures create one of the smallest WASP palaces I have ever seen. Not to mention that the cheery old chap is wearing melon colored pants and Stubbs and Wooten slippers along with his Ivy League haircut. A true young WASP indeed.

Fine taste indeed! Do you have any links to the original story?

The full story can be found at the web magazine cited, or at a blog called Southern Gent.

What divine taste! Even the smallest of spaces can be the WASPiest!!

I've read about this young man! He's quite extraordinary. Most of the students at his age haven't got this acute sense of style, sophistication and taste. I'll be surprised if they wash regularly. Never mind decorating their rooms like his!

Richard,
So happy you have finally returned!! Just in time for the summer wardrobe!

Fresh squeezed Lemonade is the perfect pick me up for a warm June day.

I concur.

hopefully the kid is in the higher ranks of some school clubs, does well academically, etc. and doesn't get picked on by the punks for being more of an adult

Majoring in French and Art History? No wonder he has so much time for such frippery.
Showcasing your interior decorating skills is a good move if your 'education' leaves you unqualified for...anything (except possibly teaching French, Art History).

I always wanted to wallpaper my dorm room with wallpaper with a fake wooden panelling motif, but I graduated before that cunning plan could be put into action. This kid has worked magic, though, and it reminds me that comfortable spaces are often better smaller.

A French and Art History major in melon pants ? Whatever happened to real men ? I'd be far more impressed
if the picture showed that young man covered in mud after a twenty mile hike.

that dorm is tiny...the closets at out schools apartments are bigger than

I'd go nuts living in there when its empty, let alone when its packed...surprised the fire marshall didn't raise a few qualms
