Went To Visit Grandma Today

It is certainly a blessing to still have grandparents alive, and I am blessed with two living grandmas. One is in her seventies (pictured), and my great grandma is still alive and kicking at 94. My grandmas are polar opposites. One is obsessed with collecting dolls and the other is obsessed with funeral homes (spooky, I know). The funeral obsessed granny even owns an antique hearse for crying out loud. Anyway, I love them both.

PS - My cashmere tweed houndstooth suit has arrived, and I am very pleased. It is a warm one to wear though, but I will display it on the blog very soon.

R, this is a bloody marvelous photo! Hilarious! It made me laugh out loud. I hope your granny does not mind your revealing her face here. The little dog, too.

I have no grandparents today. When they were alive, we were not close. My paternal grandfather was English and very distant. When he got older, he wore three-piece suits and sat in his leather sofa-chair and drank whisky and smoked cigars all day. I feel I am beginning to follow in his footsteps.

Can't wait to see pics of the houndstooth suit. I was thinking of picking up one from J.Press.

Something is amiss.

Where's your shirt cuff?

Richard...very nice of you to spend time with your grandmother. Mine are all gone now but I had a blissful relationship with my grandparents when I was a kid.

Never mind the cuff, notice the flag pin. A flag pin? I imagine trip involved some work.

Yes, I have a flag pin, and I do wear it with pride on occasion. I am proud to be an American, but I do not wear one (pins of any kind) typically. I did have a function to attend on the way to visit grandma, and it was political in nature.

I only mentioned it because it's silly sometimes. A friend once told me that while he supported me, he was surprised I wouldn't wear a flag pin, something about his dad and Korea. I proudly fly the flag outside my home...he doesn't, go figure.

Welcome back Richard.

Did you request no pocket flaps? If so, I don't understand why.

Nice machine made rug! I mean, it actually is a nice machine made rug - but also a small jab because it was clearly made by a machine.

I think it is poor form to post your grandmother's photo (showing her full face) online when you cut your own face from your photos. I hope you got her consent.
