Brooks Brothers, the founder of the Ivy League/WASP staple known as the sack suit has placed several of its heritage suits in its fall line-up this season. Will Brooks make a full return and endorse the 3/2 sack as its primary suit....doubtful. However, it is promising to see so many pieces of the famous cut in the fall collection.
Hopefully, the additions will help take some of the Ask Andy folks off the classic clothiers back. I often read criticism of the company on trad forums, but I also find it interesting that there is truly no exclusive sack suit producer any longer. For example, even the great J Press that I love so much sells darted suits and sport coats. In my opinion, the cut is not the entry card to the WASP/Ivy lifestyle that some make it, though I do favor the cut.
