Sunday Handlin'

(Monday's Post....Just A Little Early Though)

In honor of my friend ADG, author of the blog Maxminimus, I am going to post on my Sunday Handlin' experience. Yes, as stated before in this blog, ole Richie does go to church. And yes, I am a Baptist and I attend the First Baptist Church in my local area. To start today's handlin story off (no we don't really handle snakes), I will begin with my attire sported at the handlin' event.

Very old Southwick Blazer
Polo OCBD
Polo Tweed Trousers
Alden Cordovan Shell Pennies
Trafalgar Monogrammed Belt

Today's service was a good one, and the preacher focused on the subject of depression. He spoke of spiritual and clinical depression, and believe it or not, Richie has suffered from depression twice in his life. However, a comical moment occurred today that will remain with me the entirety of my life. A young man sitting near the front close to the preacher and the microphones sneezed loudly and followed the tail end of his sneeze with one of the loudest farts I ever heard. This event was not intentional, but it caused the church to be filled with snickering and low level laughter. Personally, I had to step out a minute because I couldn't contain my laughter, and even the preacher cracked a smile. So, ADG, in your honor, there is my handlin' story for today.

Wear a tie when going to services.
As Mammy would say "T'aint fittin - no tie, backslidin like Sodom and Gommorah." Be a standing rebuke to the forces of moral and cultural relativism.

I normally do, but even at the snobby First Baptist :) .....men dress so poorly. I felt overdressed today, but I agree, I should have put a tie on.

Poloist here. I bet ya'll thought I was dead.

Why must you wear a tie to church? I don't. Sometimes I wear jeans to church. Oh, the shock!

I have those trousers, and love them.
