A Sweater That Has Seen It All

After reading a post on my sartorial friends site ADG (where is your site by the way??) about one of his favorite sweaters, I decided to do a post on my favorite lambs covering. My favorite is a Shetland Sweater made in the Shetland Islands of Scotland. It is a lovat green, and I have sported it in many ways which include the following:

1. With Chinos
2. With a Tie
3. With a Bow Tie and Blazer
4. With a Sport Coat
5. Tied around my neck
6. With Jeans (pictured)

Have a great weekend!

I have just discovered this site and I am very glad I have. I love classic suits but finding information on them has proven difficult. Or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. If I can ask you a question, can you tell me anything about this suit? Specifically, what is this made of? Wool? http://www.altfg.com/Stars/h/harvey-james-stewart.jpg

Thanks. Love the site.

The suit is definitely wool, and it appears to be a tweed suit. Glad you like the site!

If you do find out what's become of ADG's blog, would you mind sharing it with us? I believe you inspired him to start his blog.

Nice enough sweater, with the exception of the gay cuff thing. Where did you learn this odd practice? Bow tie with a crew neck sweater - hmmm that makes little sense.

You inspired ADG, hahahaha. Is The Sluice Box related to Winthrop?

I have one in a very similar shade from Brooks Bros. Oddly practical shade.
Must agree with W.Essex on the diapproval of any tie with a crew neck (yeah prep school kids do it, but that's for technical dress code compliance only) and the twinky Dan Trapanier-esque shirt cuff turn-up.
