Plaid Hat Abuse

Once upon a time, I did own a plaid hat similar to the one photographed. The way I lost it is not a very amusing story, so I will move on. So, when viewing this photograph, I was taken back to a memorable moment while wearing my precious plaid hat. I was 21 and my friends and I went to a night club. I was wearing my chinos, Oxford Cloth Buttondown (blue), and penny loafers with my hat. Once inside the club, I spotted a ravenous black haired beauty that was borderline Goth looking. After a closer inspection, I noticed that she had her teeth capped with vampire fangs.......seriously, they were capped and not the kind of play teeth you slip in your mouth.

As the evening progressed and the music pumped, the vampire looking mistress gave me a curling finger to come hither. Of course, I did! As I approached, she caressed my cheek and removed my precious plaid hat. She licked it (odd)......rubbed it over her breast, and then placed it in areas that could clearly be considered illegal. I am certain that I stood there in awe.......

A New Made-To-Measure Suit Is On The Way

Yesterday, I ordered my first made-to-measure suit of the year. It is a houndstooth pattern with a little more tan color than pictured above. The suit will be cut in a very traditional Ivy League style.

-3/2 Button Stance
-2 Button Sleeve
-Patch Pockets
-Sack Suit Fit
-Plain Front Trouser
-2 inch Cuff

It should be here in 6-8 weeks.....can't wait.

Summer Is Ending - Can White Bucks Continue?

Yes, I know my posts have been random! But trust me, I will soon resume my daily schedule again. I know, promises - promises. When I return, readers will be embellished with personal photos and stories galore. Promise!

Now, for today's subject we look at a Life photo of Princeton in the 1950s. The student in the argyle sweater is our subject, and he is well dressed indeed. He appears to being wearing tweed or camel hair (difficult to tell), and a argyle sweater. However, did you notice that he is wearing white (dirty) bucks. Can the shoe be worn past Labor Day? Let us see what you the readers think (if any are left) before I offer my advice :)

Tie One On

There is just something refreshing about putting a neck tie on in the morning. Why men disdain the garment so much puzzles me. Maybe they have the wrong size collar...who knows. Regardless, there are three knots that I favor, and these are the four-in-hand, Half Windsor, and the Full Windsor. Featured below is a chart to show you how to tie each of the knots.
