As I stumbled upon this photo, many thoughts popped in my mind. First, the photo is obviously from the 1970s from the look of that bow tie. Second, I like the jacket paired with the tuxedo trousers, and I might even approve of the patch madras with tuxedo trousers for a daytime or casual summer evening event. But patch madras on patch madras......not so sure about. What do you think? In my opinion, you had better start training hard like the Rock if you want to pull this one off! Hey yo, Adrian!

Why are they in black tie in daylight?
This is a Thom Browne level of gimmickry, although the tartan patterned madras is less egregious.
You notice the patch tux guy is ready for fisticuffs with the dolt in the patch suit. Patch suit guy has it coming.
I'd wear it.
Posted that pick myself back in march last year...interesting look but not one I'll be pulling off any time soon!

Cyclo.
Totally agree - the jacket with solid pants looks great. But the entire kit, no thank you.
Great Blog BTW.
Happy New Year

Nope, not together. I love madras, but madras on madras? I don't thank' so, cowboy.
Well, it's quite a statement either way. Not sure if I would do it myself.
looks better broken up.
Great headline!
The 70s were TERRIBLE for fashion. Believe me. I was there.
I get digs today as it is -- I could never pull that patch mad suit off!
My patch mad Banks jacket will have to carry me through social (warm-weather) events.
