Some Days Basic Attire Is Best, Okay Most Days!

Sometimes, one wakes up and has no clue what to wear, and for me, today was one of those days. I usually prepare my attire the night before, but today was an exception. I had no clue what to wear, and when this happens, grab the basics. You can never go wrong with a navy blazer (the one photographed is my new one pictured hanging over the Maitland and Smith Chair...posted a few days ago), chinos, blue oxford cloth button down, and loafers. Okay, I confess, I livened up when it came to the socks, I wore horizontal stripes.

Great post. Can you give the details on your belt? I'm in the market...

Always an excellent choice, and one of my favourites. The traditional metal buttons look good on a blazer, especially one tailored of heavy wool. Anything but those trendy blue buttons!

I agree

Are you wearing pastel green pants in winter? Are they corduroy?

The belt is made by Trafalgar and it is a 1 inch belt. The buckle is brass with initials and made to fit one inch belts. I invested about $150 bucks in it.

Back to basics is a prescription for decline.

Sir Richard,

Basics are always best; that, in fact, is why, there is really no need at all for blogs like this one.

Am I totally mistaken?

Sir Richard,

One does not wear tassel loafers to a funeral.
