Last night, I honestly dreamed I became dictator of the world. If dreams come true, we are all screwed!
Anyway, what would a WASP dictator wear? Tweed and festive plaid ties is the answer! I have posted this custom made houndstooth suit from Adrian Jules before, but it is worth revisiting. Tweed is an important cloth to the WASP world, and I would live in it if temperatures allowed. This particular suit is very heavy, and equipped with Ivy League details such as open patch pockets, 3/2 roll, and two button cuff. In addition, the trousers are flat front with a 2 inch cuff. Other accessories include:
Polo:
-Plaid Tie
-Pocket Square
Brooks Brothers:
-Ecru OCBD Slim Fit
Shipton & Heneage (not shown, battery on camera died)
-Tobacco Suede Tassel Loafers

Nice use of the rare ecru color shirt and excellent tie. Jacket sleeves could stand to be shortened a tad to show the requisite amount of shirt cuff.
Very nice, love the tie!
I shudder at the ersatz paramilitary Polo wardrobe that Richardtator would select.
I'm assuming there would be loafers with spats, plaid jodhpurs, some herringbone safari jacket with embroidered (flying ducks or polo players?) shoulderboards over some striped OCBD and some incongruous ascot. Also, monocle, riding crop, corncob pipe, little round wire-rimmed sunglasses and a big Stetson campaign hat. Maybe a cordovan pistol belt holstering a tiny derringer and a Blackberry.
why are the pockets placed so high????
Either the Richinator or the Dicktator, surely?
Lovely suit, BTW.
Yes if Richard were dictator of the world all men would be forced to wear argyle socks, penny loafers, bow ties, 3/4 sack suits, signet rings and drink brandy.
And all the women would be forced to wear peek a boo teddys...
Do you have the Cavendish from S&H?If so how do they look and fit? I've been lusting after them for years.
The only Shipton & Heneage shoes I own LBF are the tassel loafers I referenced, and a pair of their bit loafers.
Both pairs of shoes fit a lot like Albert Slippers. They are very flexible, and very handsome.
Also, once you put them on, one tends to find them too large. However, after wearing them they strangely mold to your feet and fit appropriately. In addition, there was a note with both pair of shoes to indicate this.
Hope that helps.
I meant, are your tassel loafers the Cavendish model from S&H? Would love to see a pic. I'll check the archives. Not that I need yet another pair of tassel loafers, but... ;)
