Tonight, the boys and I are getting together to have a manly evening of poker in a smoke filled room with pipes and cigars. My wife isn't to happy that I am hosting this event, but she will get over it I am sure. For the evening, I have my sleeves rolled up and I am wearing:

A tie and sweater for poker with the boys...really??? You need to loosen up. Plus...that sweater will stink like stale tobacco after wearing it in a room filled with smoke.
Yes, really! I try to look like a gentleman when hosting a party. Trust me, my friends will not show up in sweat pants and t-shirts.

Certainly not suggesting Sweats and T-shirts....but you are hosting a poker night with your buddies, not a Cocktail Party with the wives...Jeans and an OCBD perhaps??
This sweater vest has two disturbing traits typical of modern incarnations: a shallow V-neck that covers collar points and doesn't show enough tie, and smallish arm openings that extend to the shoulder giving the wearer's torso a cylindrical look.
The Brooks ones I'm wearing right now suffers from these proportion issues as well.

My suggestion was merely that dress pants, a tie and sweater is a bit rigid and somewhat affected for a poker game.

Its a great outfit and I so admire that you choose to dress like an adult and not a slob. I read recently that when you dress like a slob, you really are insulting those who cannot afford to dress better.
However...
the smoke is going to destroy your lungs and I don't care how often you wash and dry clean, you cannot get the smell out of your clothes! :) And you are going to have several friends over? Richard the room is going to stink because I know you're not going to be doing this in the garage!!

It's more than obvious from this post (and even more so from the previous one) that brown does not in any way suit your complexion.
A friendly suggestion: Stick to navy, grey, charcoal.
But first, dispose of anything browin your wardrobe.
Anyone who shows up at my house wearing jeans doesn't get a second invitation.
Is poker ,Trad? I seriously doubt it. I would have preferred Baccarat.
