A Green Suit????

While browsing other blogs, I came across this interesting photograph of a gent wearing a green suit. I can't put my finger on the fabric, but it appears to be tweed. Regardless, I have never imagined a green suit, but this photograph gives me consideration. I am thinking holiday parties, etc. What do you think?

I imagine there is a way to pull it off, but this not it. I think the color needs to be subdued a bit, and not shrunk-to-fit.

Is that a Citroen?

BTW, this monstrosity features weird piped lapels (and a contrast breast pocket welt, a throat latch, and a half-belt. Suit by Trovata, whatever that is.

The stripes on his Argyle and Sutherland tie are going in the right direction. Otherwise, this whole look is a hot mess.

Some people can pull this sort of thing off - I certainly cannot. Nice tie though.

Absurd. It looks ridiculous. That shade of green, and the lack of pattern, are grotesque. I'm thinking: Burn it.

Not sure about the full suit in bottle green, but a velvet jacket would be straight hot.

My husband has similar pants he acquired from my grandfather (both men are very tall and slender and happen to wear the exact same size). The shade is out there, but he wears them as though they were khakis with a navy sport coat. It's a good look and works well in early summer when I wear Lilly in a nearly matching shade.

I don't think the suit is atrocious but I would warn against wearing it AS a suit-- the pieces would work in a wardrobe as separates. It's "different" for sure. Interesting.

Outrageous, and two sizes too small.

First that red flannel blazer, which looks a tad too bright based on the photo, and now this! I'm with LBF and DAM on this one. The shade is just too light and bright, at least in the picture. Maybe the original is more subdued, but IMHO a deep forest, olive or event a deep lovat(blue-ish) green is preferable to this. Let's call it electric green.

This kid looks like a Neo-Prep Wanna-be-Hipster jackass....
The suit is hideous...looks like it came from the closet at Pee-Wee's Playhouse...made for a character named Mr. Green.

a dark green tweed would look better

Will you be renaming the blog Riddler101?

The suit is a little too green. I suppose a young person who is super thin, extremely handsome, a rock star, and/or superbly outrageous could pull this look off. I think there should be some extreme caution involved in purchasing a suit of this variety. I guess it comes down to personality. You seem more country club, and less dandy club.

just because one has the power or inclination to do something does not necessarily mean one should do it!

I think you have a boyish enough look/facial structure to pull it off

And as a bonus, attach some question marks and you have your Riddler costume for Halloween.

No thanks!

Richard,
Since we have never seen your full face, could this possibly be you?

Are you playing a trick here?

Anyway, I think one would have to have a very slim build to pull this off. I hate the shoes on this gent. And some socks would be nice.

I think the green pants would look good with a navy blazer. But the whole thing together just makes me think of the grinch :)

A great holiday suit - provided that the holiday is on March 17th (though perhaps not very WASPish - not that you are really a wasp, being a Baptist and all)

I tend to agree that the suit is not very becoming as one unit. However, I do think the pieces could work individually.

Bill, would I really do something like that!

A classic pimp suit if I ever saw one. Nevertheless, Al Franken's youngest brother is sporting about in a cherry vintage Benz.
