Recently, I purchased a pair of Ralph Lauren Darlton Cordovan Penny Loafers. Without a doubt, Ralph Lauren makes the most comfortable cordovan shoes around. My first Polo cordovan purchase was his tassel loafers, and I love them equally.
The shoes are made by Crockett & Jones, and again, I find them far superior in comfort to my Alden Cordovan Shoes & my Allen Edmonds. They are expensive though priced for around $800, but they are worth every penny. However, you can occasionally find them on sale at Polo, or find a slightly used pair on eBay for about half price.
My favorite way to wear them is with gray flannels or jeans while paired with yellow socks. Grab a pair, you will love them!
P.S. ADG, I finally figured out how to make them shine again....use Brooks Brothers Dark Brown Shoe Cream. With a little muscle, they will look like new again.

After applying and brushing the shoe cream try a coat of standard Kiwi shoe polish (paste wax). Brush, buff, and be amazed by the even better results.
A casual shoe made from stiff, shiny, expensive stuff. That makes no sense at all.
Dear Richard:
"Hate" is a word I associate with embittered rednecks and greedy ethnic radicals instead of with educated gentlemen who take pride in their heritage and standing.
Why not write or state that you disagree with the President's policies instead of castigating them with a polarizing word like "hate".
Our political systems have been disabled by rogue polarization enabled by the trash talk and chicanery the has prevailed in Washington and elsewhere for the past two decades.
Raise your sights and contribute to constructive discussion. It will benefit you and our country in the long run.
PS - I don't reveal my electoral choices to anyone - even my wife and son. The only significant clue I provide is that I have maintained a subscription to The National Review since my second year at Deerfield. That should tell you from which side of the plate I bat!

Nice shoes ol' chum. And thanks for the polishing tips.
Ignore the disgustingly pompous comments (above). Anyone who still reads National Review is certainly not on the Right side. NR surrendered years ago to the globalist NeoCon Multi-Kult crowd. Traitors.
Richard,
After working for Brooks Bros. and Ralph Lauren I truly appreciate a great cordovan shoe (I have 6 pair). I get my high shine by hitting them with a fine mist of water and brush them. Then while damp apply a coat of Meltonian (Cordovan) cream and buff with a brush and then mist them again and buff with cloth. Then I repeat with the Kiwi wax for the high shine. Mist again and buff with a cloth.
The meltonian keeps the leather soft and the Kiwi wax gives the great shine. The patina comes after years of wearing. Have fun with them I love wearing mine.
