Tartan Pocket Squares - by Richard

Tartan Pocket Squares are a useful item during the fall/winter months. The plaid pattern goes well with repp stripe or club ties, and it can really ad character to a navy blazer or flannel suit. Many traditional clothing stores such as Brooks, Press, and Polo all sell them.

Such beautiful colours.

I have problems with rectilinear patterns on pocket squares, but must note that the Howard Yount ones have hand-rolled edges.

Not a huge fan of tartan pocket squares but they certainly have their place. What would stop me dead in my tracks from wearing that one is the machine stitched edge.

Pocket squares MUST have hand rolled edges. IMHO.

Great web site!

Great idea! Kind of informal but good with tweed jackets and other ensemble elements because it can pick up many colors or add contrast. Madras plaid also works well to liven up a navy blazer.

This does not seem to have the perfectly symmetrical color arrangement of a true tartan. Very close though.
Like regimental stripes, the authentic ones just seem right whereas homages look off.

We continue to be indebted to American Jews like Jacobi Press, the Baruch Brothers, and Ralph Lauren for keeping the Trad flag flying.

It's really the British, and in particular the English, to whom we show gratitude.
