There is just something about women in plaid skirts, or plaid anything that I love. However, I have always found it interesting that men can dress in the same preppy clothes from birth to death, but women on the other hand throw in some tweaks. We never abandon our blazers/uniforms, but women seem to grow away from theirs. Personally, I wish it wasn't the case.

I am all about the plaid in the winter! Plaid skirts, plaid flannel shirts...you name it! Glad that you find it appealing!
Hi,
I agree, women do tend to steer away from the look. But I think it has something to do with the fact that it is somewhat of a fetish for men, i.e the naughty school-gir, so I think we often feel silly wearing it without accenting it/tweaking it so as to avoid appearing as a source of titillation, like a geisha girl (I hope the analogy makes sense).
I personally love plaid!! It feels more comfortable when we can interpret it in a way that makes it more confidently wearable.

It is true that if you do not do plaid properly you risk looking overdone. However, a plaid skirt can be easily done without looking like you're about to role play ;) Stay tuned, I will be doing a plaid post shortly!

You're missing the plot, and the photo doesn't help..
A woman can wear a long kilt and tall boots, showing not an inch of skin or even much hint of shape, and still look amazing.
