Today, I took presents to all the kids who live in my neighborhood, and of course, I have to make my annual donation to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. However, a funny thing happened today when one of the kids greeted me at the door by exclaiming, "you are not Santa Claus!" My response to the child was, "you are correct, I am not Santa but rather his preppy brother Richard." The kid replied, "Santa has a brother." Yes, I replied and Merry Christmas :)

You still have not learned to properly tie a bow tie.
Not an elf?
I'm impressed that Brooks is doing diamond bow ties, emblematic no less. The white linen pocket square in tweed never worked for me.
I'll be collecting checks to the Catholic All Saint's Hospital later.
I have the same sports coat, it is a classic work of art.
Main Line - I can tie them in my sleep....I use the traditional method shown by Brooks etc.
I'll have to go with Main Line on this one. The knot should be pulled tighter—it looks as if it's about to come undone. Also, I would suggest cutting yourself more slack—you have little to play with there and for a man of your build you need more tie! Forgive me, though you cut a highly presentable figure at holiday time, Sir.
Richard
Glad to see you in the CHRISTMAS spirit.... another great outfit....very preppy very traditional!
Traditional method by BB? I'm sorry but it looks untied. I like my knots tight, and points or wings even. This here just looks like you got to the end and decided to stop.
Like the look though, very nice, just don't like this BB style of tie tying.
Truly Richard, the others are correct. It looks like that was your very first attempt at tying a bowtie. The knot isn't tight enough, and the tie is adjusted too short, leaving you with a sloppy, shapeless bow.
I was out shopping and missed this. Is it too late to pile on with the others complaining about the bow tie technique???
Then again, a bow tie is a bit eccentric, so you should have some latitude in the implementation.
The undimpled bow tie looks a bit too Abraham Lincoln era. I aim for a more roaring twenties look with a jauntier secure knot.
No more with the bow tie! Thanks!
