WASPs and preppies always enjoy a good conversation, but I am almost certain that this art will soon be lost if it is not already. It seems only the purist still appreciate a good face to face conversation, as our newer generations surround themselves with instant chat, facebook, and cell phone mania. Heck, a lot of young kids today can't even find a date without going to some on-line dating service. It's sad, really sad............

It seems that each year conversation becomes more and more of a lost art. The age of texting and facebook have changed the world forever, and sadly there is no going back in time.
Sigh. So many of our (my wife and me) overly educated academic colleagues and acquaintances are great at endless monologues about their subjects. . . But an interesting, two-way conversation where your eyes don't glaze over after about three minutes? Forget about it!
The elmination of elites and consequent slobbing of America has significantly reduced the number of soirees like the one the photograph.
Clever repartee with a comely lean well educated and dressed female is always the hallmark of a great "do".
Looks like the two guys are doing a great job of chatting up the cute filly.
I agree, live conversations are being destroyed by online life. And perhaps people trust each other less because they aware that you never know what to expect (like in online world)
