The lack of winter in my area has made me look ahead to warmer weather, and this spring, I plan to sport more madras than I have in the past. Perhaps my reluctance in the past is due to the looks (displayed below) that madras can sometimes create. Without question, the cloth is not something the average chap wears, but when one wears a blazer or trousers made of plaid, look out (glares are coming). My rule remains consistent that only one madras item should be worn at a time, and the other pieces of outfit should be ultra conservative. In my opinion, red, yellow, and blue madras is the most beautiful.

I've got a pair of madras shorts that I wear to the beach and around resorts paired with navy and white polos. I tried to pull off a pair of madras pants awhile back, but they looked silly. My advice is to keep it simple.
Well said. Agreed. I have madras shorts (Berle, JCrew) and shirts (JPress, Polo) and wear them a lot in warmer months. I don't get any funny looks as far as I can tell. But I'm sure I would if I wore madras trousers or sport jacket. The people aren't ready for them yet.
i love madras but completely agree with the one piece per outfit rule.

isn't that Darrin Criss from Glee.
He is very talented. Madras should be worn to highlight and it will be the WOW factor of your summer wardrobe
Madras in moderation please!
For me, a shirt or tie is as far as I go. But if you can carry off trousers or a sportcoat in Madras, then go for it!
