Though I have never been a big fan of Thom Browne, I really enjoyed this ad several years ago. The gray flannel suit is classic, and the tie was made famous by Jennifer Aniston's pose of the cover of GQ. Regardless, I think Brooks could do much better for Black Fleece than Thom Browne, but I obviously still support the brand.

Women in ties were famous long before Jennifer Aniston's pic. Look at photos of some actresses during the 1930s. Marlene Dietrich comes to mind because she practically made it her trademark. In pin-up art, some of the Varga(s) and Petty girls show that influence.
The ad is good but, like so many things, heavily inspired by the past.
I agree, and Brooks Brothers can do better than this.... because they do need some changes...but not too many. That becomes a difficult task.
I think that 'Annie Hall' beat Jennifer Aniston to the punch with the necktie.
Were I a sextuplet, I would refuse to dress like my siblings as an adult. I'm also stupefied by the use of distractingly ugly eyewear in a clothing ad.
Short trousers, narrow lapels, skinny ties: these are just a silly fad, from which Thom Browne has benefited.
I avoid the "Little Boy Lost" look at all costs.
Why do so many adult males enjoy looking like little schoolboys and not like grown men?
