English Country Weekend - by Richard

If I were to spend a weekend with an aristocrat at their English Countryside Manor, I would certainly pick an outfit like the one displayed above to wear. Without question, the English perfected the art of wearing different costumes for all occasions. Of course my favorite is the tweedy country wear, and I could only imagine living in the cold and musty halls of an English Manor. So Queen Elizabeth, hurry up and send me my invitation to visit you at Balmoral. I'm waiting.......

Richard You must proof read.. please. Thank you.

This is either a Polo RL ad or a pic from their store.

The English weekend "riding to hounds" is not what it once was. See the "I love Lucy" episode on this topic.

It is a lovely thought...and would be the perfect weekend retreat.

I was going to say you are watching too much "Downton Abbey", but what the heck..what we need is more "Downton Abbey"!

Yes, I know the difference between "their" and "there", but like most humans, I make mistakes late at night typing. So Cranky,(who's comment didn't get published) please do find something else to do with your time other than correcting my grammar.

It reminds me of the costumes from the TV series of "All Creatures Great and Small." Not sure it really goes out in public.

I've actually stayed in a few English manor houses (though never at Balmoral), and though I wore a tweed jacket it was sometimes with jeans rather than woolens or wide-wale cords. Different strokes...

Country life in the UK has been boring since Tony Blair and Labour killed fox hunting several years back.

As a result, English country life has regressed to the mean in as much as apparel like that in your posting has become increasingly rare.
