Henry Koehler, Equestrian Artist Extraordinaire - by Crawford

My wonderful wife is an accomplished equestrian, and we have long admired the work of Henry Koehler, the renowned equestrian artist. Mr. Koehler is a Yalie who began his career in the 1950s illustrating for Town & Country and The New Yorker. Due to his deep affection for horses, races, and hunts, Mr. Koehler turned his brush and eye to all things equine. Mr. Koehler's work may be found in the collections of the Prince of Wales, Nina Campbell, and Ralph Lauren. The late Duke and Duchess of Windsor also collected his work. Mr. Koehler resides in Southampton. I commend him to you.

Ahh, such an image. Reminds me of the fabulius fashions that equestrians have given to the world of style. I had my first custom made riding jacket for the Hampton Classic Horse Show in 1995 and it only got better from there!

What is a ,'Yalie'?!

Sounds disreputable.

A "Yalie" is a person who either attends Yale University in New Haven CT or previously attended Yale University in New Haven CT. I am not sure if one needs to have actually graduated from Yale.
