Why is it that Downton Abbey has attracted so much attention among wasp, prep aspirants? Some of us have been watching Masterpiece since Alistair Cook and have never felt over the years compelled to tell every person who will listen that we've found something we would like to publicize as "culture." Television is still very much the slightly larger girl of culture: good fun, at times enriching yet not something one talks of or is seen about with.
