Patchwork Madras - by Richard

With spring upon us, madras has to come into the conversation. Designers and clothiers are showing us the latest patterns and designs, but I have only seen a couple patchwork madras blazers that have met my standards in the past and present. In my opinion, it is the most difficult madras to do correctly. The jacket in the photograph meets my standards for general appearance, but the size on the model could be debated. To achieve the proper appearance, a patchwork madras jacket should fit like a sweater and have a general worn in look. The jacket I own is from Orvis, and they created this jacket about eight years ago. Far too many times, companies have that stiff new appearance with their patchwork sport coats, and too much structure. Again, go for the unstructured sweater like fit, and a worn in fabric and you are good to go.

I am not sure you are correct about the fit
