Nothing conjures up images in one's head of preppy school campuses and blazers than photographs of rowing teams. Pictured above is an early 1900s photograph of a Cambridge Rowing Team. Having tried this a couple times in my life, I can say that rowing requires teamwork and an unbelievable upper body strength. The sport also provides spectators an opportunity to look very dandified in their preppy regatta blazers, etc. So, check out a rowing event soon if you have never been to one, and I promise, you will enjoy it.

We always called it Crew at school.
I remember a popular t-shirt in the Boston area. It said Wellesley Women's Crew. Say it fast.
it is crew:
crew
to crew
I crew
did you crew?
I crewed
went to crew
Actually rowing on the Crew takes incredible leg strength more than upper body since the seat is on a slide. Loved my rowing days in prep school and college
