Duck Boots are without question one of the preppiest/WASPiest items on the earth. The mocs are the preppiest in my opinion, and they look best with a trouser cut just a wee short. I have a pair of the mocs with an oiled canvas top, but I have considered pursuing the original blue and tan ones. In addition, there is only one company to buy them from, and that is L.L. Bean. So be sure to put them on your wish list, and Santa might just bring you a pair.

"Considered pusuing the original blue and tan ones....."? Good that you have such lofty ambitions.
I had mine out in the NYC rain the other day ;)
Is that you and your wife in the photo?
Hi - Can you tell me where you grabbed the top photo? Love his sweater.
The originals are brown and tan.
But are they trad?
Many things to answer here!
City Boy - Awesome!
Nope, it is not me and my wife.
Don't remember where I got it. Probably some tumblr site.
Ed, I don't always get it right, but are you sure?
Who cares if they are trad. I hate the term anyway. Stupid Internet.
As the founder of the Internet I cant believe you call it stupid...
You founded the internet, Anonymous? (see "As a scientist," Arcadia)
Richard, why is it you never approve my comments-event the ones that aren't as scathing as those of other people?
Got my first pair when I was in prep school a zillion years ago. Have been wearing them ever since. Finally had to replace ones I bought in my 20s a couple of years ago. Perfect for NYC slushy wet winters -- easy to slip on and off, unlike the boots (which I also have) that require lacing and tieing. Great post -- Reggie
