A Fun Filled Sunday
I usually take Sunday to rest from a hectic week, but today was very busy. After church, I went to organic grocerer to buy the weeks groceries, and ended up in an antique store buying Chinese porcelain. Then it was back home to walk the dog, and venture out to dinner with one of my good friends. We then arrived back at my home and enjoyed some egg nog and the watched the Packers and Giants game. It is now late, and I am here in bed typing up this post. The day wasn't strenuous, but it was a lot more active then the long nap I usually take.

Christmas Season Is Here
Photo obtained from: Trashness
The holidays mean many things to many people! For some, it is knocking kids down in Walmart to get that precious video game. For others, it is eating large portions of Aunt Rita's fig pudding. But for me, I try to remember why we call Christmas, CHRISTmas. And second, it is a time for preps and WASPs to go wild with plaid.
So decorate your tree, and dig out our plaid sweaters, blazers, and trousers. We here at WASP 101 are going to have a grand time this Christmas season!

WASPy Thanksgiving Part 6.
For many WASPs, Thanksgiving Day begins with the ceremonial Blessing of The Hounds. Why do the hounds need blessing, well who knows. But, don't forget to count all your blessings on Thanksgiving Day and remember, give thanks!

WASPy Thanksgiving Day Part 5.
Oh, the much discussed and referenced Jeep Wagoneer Woody edition. It is how we travel to grandma's while clad in our bow ties, sweaters, or Barbour Jackets. Don't forget to leave room for old Rover in the back...........I mean seriously, does Victoria really need that many bags to stay one night at Nanna's?

WASPy Thanksgiving Day Part 4.
After indulging yourself with bountiful proportions of turkey, it is always a tradition to throw around the pigskin with the family in a classic game of touch football. No worries about the bow you wore to lunch, it is just touch, right! Just throw on a quilted jacket, and you are good to go. Just remember Uncle Thomas has a tendency to get carried away, and he may tackle you. Keep in mind that it is Thanksgiving, so you shouldn't get too angry unless he soils your attire. If tragedy occurs, just be sure to knee him in the groin during the next possession.

WASPy Thanksgiving Day Part 3.
Before hopping into the Jeep Wagoneer Woody to travel to dear ol' granny's, grab your Barbour Jacket to pair with your tweed bow tie. It will keep you warm and toasty for the ride over, and for the afternoon walk along the estate. Both items will last you for years, as they will only improve with age.

WASPy Thanksgiving Day Part 2.
When traveling to grandma's for Thanksgiving, it is always good to step it up just a notch. In order to achieve this, I reccomend trying Bass Weejuns with tassels. The shoes are made just like the Bass Weejun penny loafers, but with tassels. I recently picked up this pair and they are quite delightful. Usually, I find Bass shoes very tight, and it is difficult to locate a wide version. These however fit perfectly. So when crawling in the Jeep Woody Wagoneer on Thanksgiving Day, don't forget the tassel loafers.

WASPy Thanksgiving Day Part 1.
Thanksgiving and the Christmas Holiday season is just a little over a week away. And we here at WASP 101 are focusing on the key essentials one needs to have a WASPy Thanksgiving Day.
First up, is the tweed suit. Not all WASPy Thanksgiving dinners are formal, but if the tradition is to wear a jacket and tie, one cannot go wrong with a nice tweed suit. Add a fair isle sweater and bow tie, and you will be all prepped up for the big event. You may even be asked to carve the turkey.

Plaid Oxford Shirt
Today for church, I wore a plaid oxford cloth button down, and enjoyed it for a change of pace. Normally, I wear the typical blue oxford, and occasionally a pink oxford cloth button down. But today, I changed speeds and attempted the plaid. The outfit had a university appeal, and I plan to try it again soon.
Outfit:
Plaid Oxford Cloth Button Down - Rugby (soon to close)
Slim Club Tie - Brooks Brothers
Navy Blazer - Social Primer for Brooks Brothers
Khaki Trousers - Rugby (not shown)

Ralph Lauren Rugby Stores to Close
I just recently found out from Ralph Lauren Rugby's twitter site that they plan to shut down the Rugby brand by Feb. 2nd 2013. I did not see this coming, and it is a sad day in the preppy world. I personally loved their sport coats, sweaters, trousers, ties etc. In fact, I just received a new shaggy sweater today and skull and cross bones slippers in the mail. I can only speculate as to why Ralph is shutting down the brand, but I can only assume that he was losing money. Again, this makes no sense. He just expanded in London and Japan??? I guess this is a happy day for J Crew (not a fan) and Brooks Brothers Flat Iron concept stores.
