Toggle Coats
With winter in the air, and with super frigid temperatures, I pulled out my heavy duty toggle coat a few days before Christmas. Now, this chap appears to be wearing a super fitted updated version, and I can assure you that he cannot fit a sport coat under this toggle. However, it still looks nice, and I am huge fan of his accessories. Anyway, the point is buy a toggle coat. It will out live you!

Anxiety Isn't Worth It
This time of year is always a time of year that I look very forward too! However, I always end up consumed with anxiety like our dear friend Charlie Brown. After wasting a few days worrying, I realize that anxiety and worry gives you something to do, but accomplishes nothing but erasing years from your life. So be happy and enjoy this Christmas Season. Plus, watch Charlie Brown's Christmas, it is a classic.

Alken Print
Recently, a friend gave me a nice Christmas present! The gift was an original Alken print. I framed the print and recently placed it in my fox hunt theme guest bathroom. The shower is seldom used in this room since I never have any guests that stay the night. Who would want to visit me, right!

Two Very Classy Girls With Even Classier Blogs
Photo Credit: Classy Girls Wear Pearls
If women only realized that they do not have to show all their beauties to attract us men, we would have a much classier world. These two young ladies are the epitome of youthful beauty and what a woman should aspire to look like. One could also easily be envious of the young Sarah Vickers for her success at Kiel Patrick James and for Carly's success at her blog College Prep, but rather we will celebrate it. Both ladies are sporting preppy sweaters and Bean boots with a high level of class.

A Busy Little Saturday
This Saturday turned out to be far busier than I expected, and I only had to drill three holes in my head at the Christmas Party this afternoon. At least I believe I looked nice while drilling.
Polo Lovat Tweed Blazer was combined with:
Rugby Pink OCBD
Brooks Brothers Club Tie
Brooks Brothers Paisley Pocket Square
Polo Ralph Lauren Light Gray Flannel Trousers
Polo Ralph Lauren Yellow Socks
Cole Haan Bit Loafers in British Tan
Lovat Polo Ralph Lauren Jacket
I have a very quick meeting in the morning, and then I have the first family Christmas function to attend (getting the drill ready, but I do love them). For the meeting in the morning, I am wearing my Polo Ralph Lauren Lovat Tweed (a very versatile jacket). With the jacket, I plan to wear:
Rugby Ralph Lauren Pink OCBD
Navy Club Tie of some sort
Light Gray Flannel Trousers
Yellow Socks
British Tan Horsebit Loafers
Pictures my follow.

Christmas To Do List
With Christmas in the air, you just can't help but want to wear plaid. Today was pretty much a boring day, and I am winding it down for the year. When you are the boss, you can take a few weeks off to prepare for the New Year.
What is a boy to do:
My Christmas To Do List:
Finish Shopping
Grease up the drill for the holes I will be drilling in my head at family get togethers ( I do love them)
Go Hunting (Moose, Pheasant, or Deer????)
Wash the SUV so we don't look gross going to get togethers
Donate to St. Jude's Children Hospital (Those kids really need help and that hospital is a blessing to them)
Attire:
Tweed Bow from Brooks
Tartan Shirt from Rugby
Belt from Trafalgar
Critterpants from Polo
Rugby Stripe Socks from Polo
Vintage Crested Loafers from Polo
So things have been very stressful lately, particularly at work! However, we don't want to get into all the details of that, not here! Not to mention that my hairstylist, who speaks to me in a British accent , cut way too much off my hair off. My swoop is slowly recovering! What is the answer to all a man's troubles? Well, first I say prayer, and second getting all gussied up. Featured in the photo from my super cheap condo (or whatever you anonies call it) with even cheaper fake Chinese vase (I know it is not real Chinese porcelian, but I do own some of the real thing):
Brooks Brothers Donegal Three Piece Suit (Left Vest Off) Milano fit suit (super slim)
Polo Tartan Necktie
Brooks OCBD with pinned collar (yes I did, so shut up) not my best pinning. It is tough to do!
Polo Rugby striped socks
Polo Red Pocket Square with Jockeys on it.
Skull and Crossbones Rugby Slippers (No Longer Avaliable)

Duck Boots
Duck Boots are without question one of the preppiest/WASPiest items on the earth. The mocs are the preppiest in my opinion, and they look best with a trouser cut just a wee short. I have a pair of the mocs with an oiled canvas top, but I have considered pursuing the original blue and tan ones. In addition, there is only one company to buy them from, and that is L.L. Bean. So be sure to put them on your wish list, and Santa might just bring you a pair.

The Purple Sweater
Purple sweaters are seldom seen in the prep world, but they have been a common site this season. In this instance, the purple cashmere sweater pairs very well with the flannel trousers, bow tie, plaid shirt, and braces. Recently, I purchased a purple sweater, and a purple gingham sport shirt. Perhaps, I will unveil them on the blog very soon.

The Way Hunting Was Intended To Be
Hunting in today's American Society has become as one could say very "redneck". Now, this isn't a post to throw off on the good ole boys of the south who have a huge 10 pointer hanging above their mantle, but it is a post to celebrate how the English and the aristocratic world used to do it.
When a gentleman hunts, he wears tweed, period! Furthermore, he dresses as the gentleman pictured in the photo above. Now, some may say that common folks could not afford such dress. Nonsense!
Have you ever purchased hunting gear that these country folk today buy. It is outrageous, and they could easily buy something from Orvis and look very dashing.
How many deer or animals have I killed? Three! While a young teenage boy, I shot a spike, six pointer, and the always coveted eight pointer.
So, when you go on the hunt, look like this gentleman.

WASPs Are Drawn to Pink
For some reason, WASP men are drawn to the color pink. Whether it is a simple pink shirt or tie, or the more in your face trousers or sport coat, we WASPy guys like our pink. I personally own a multitude of pink garments, but I never wear more than one pink item at a time. A pink suit is a no no in my opinion, and I packed away my red seersucker suit long ago because it looked like a pink suit when paired together. Split them up, and they are fine. Embrace pink clothes, and don't worry about what detractors may say. You are all man for sporting the color.

Gold Blazer Buttons Add A Little Extra To Blackwatch Blazers
With the Christmas Season approaching, many of us will be pulling out our Blackwatch attire to sport at Christmas parties. Add a touch of flare to your plaid blazer by wearing it just like you would your navy blazer. Simply buy some brass buttons, and you are set.

Foxes Are The It Thing Now
One of my all time favorite fox images is the snooty fox. Ralph Lauren Rugby did a tie featuring the snooty fox last season, but I failed to pick it up. Regardless, the world is not short on foxes of late, and I expect to see them around for quite some time.

Polo Ralph Lauren Store in Georgetown
The Polo Store in Georgetown is always beautifully decorated, and I greatly desire one of Ralph's chesterfield sofas. The store does not have a tremendous amount of stock, but I did find a wonderful pair of light gray flannels and a pale green tweed sport coat. Neither of the items were in my size, so I am waiting to receive them in the mail. I will certainly display them later on the blog. Have a good Sunday.
My Last Visit To Rugby in Georgetown
I have been absent the last several days because work took me to Washington D.C. and I made an effort to get to Georgetown one afternoon. Of course, I visited Ralph Lauren Rugby before it closes on February the 2nd, but the big sales have yet to occur. On Thanksgiving, they had select items reduced by nearly 75%. None of these items interested me, or I already had them. The store also had fewer items than displayed on the Internet site.
After browsing the store, I ventured into the cafe and enjoyed a burger. No, I didn't arrive by plane this time! The waiter assured me that the cafe was not closing along with the store. Confusing really.......I mean will it stay the Rugby Cafe when there is no brand to accompany it? Who knows! Regardless, I did enjoy my trip to Rugby and we will be reporting of other visits while in Georgetown. Till then........
