Penhaligon's, a perfumer since 1870, is situated in London, and it is a longstanding favorite of mine (and my wife). With several Royal Warrants and a long list of interesting clients (including Sir Winston Churchill, Princess Diana, and Prince William), Penhaligon's produces fragrances in England that are, well, wonderfully British. I enjoy wearing Blenheim Bouquet, English Fern, and Endymion (my favorite). To my wonderful wife (if she reads this), I particularly like it when you wear Ellenisia.

Even though I regard Edward VIII as a Jedi Warrior of classic men's clothing, I couldn't help but shake my head when I saw this picture. Either the man had a little too much to drink the night before, or the lights were out in his manor house while dressing that fine morning. Individually, the items are great, but the clustering is a bit much for my taste.

Everytime I wear a knit tie (striped or not), I always get some astonishing comment. Is that tie made of a sock? What kind of tie is that? Regardless, I find them beautiful and highly appropriate with a navy blazer. Some of my favorites are striped knits, navy solid, and yellow solid knits. Don't worry about the silly questions, they just don't understand that you are the best thing going today!

The lack of winter in my area has made me look ahead to warmer weather, and this spring, I plan to sport more madras than I have in the past. Perhaps my reluctance in the past is due to the looks (displayed below) that madras can sometimes create. Without question, the cloth is not something the average chap wears, but when one wears a blazer or trousers made of plaid, look out (glares are coming). My rule remains consistent that only one madras item should be worn at a time, and the other pieces of outfit should be ultra conservative. In my opinion, red, yellow, and blue madras is the most beautiful.

I have been a little under the weather of late, so I decided to throw in some bonus posts today. For this particular post, I think the title says it all. Don't be afraid to pair your high dollar Rolex, or my personal favorite (Hamilton Watches) with a grosgrain ribbon watchband. A good color that will go with most clothing items is a navy band with a gold stripe. A good second choice would be a navy band with a red stripe.

One could even prep their business suit out with a pink OCBD and by adding a club tie, ribbon belt, yellow socks, and tassel loafers, you will be so prep you will not be able to stand yourself. Due to my lack of a driver, my driving gloves have become invaluable these cold winter mornings. Especially for those of us who prefer to drive a manual car, they are an essential accessory. Driving gloves are a classic accessory that have undeservedly lost a lot of their popularity.

However ladies, these gloves can look a little masculine if not done properly. Make sure that the sizing is correct so your fingers look more ladylike and that they have ruching at the wrist. I also suggest you purchase a classic brown or tan shade, and never black. I abhor black driving gloves. They will, without a doubt, make you look like you belong on a motorcycle!

The gray flannel suit is classic, and the tie was made famous by Jennifer Aniston's pose of the cover of GQ. Regardless, I think Brooks could do much better for Black Fleece than Thom Browne, but I obviously still support the brand.

A girl never forgets her first pair of Ferragamos. These were even more memorable as they were not only my first pair of Ferragamos, but my first pair of heels. They were given to me by my mother one random afternoon when she deemed my feet to have stopped growing and that it was now time to learn how to walk in heels. I will have to admit that this was the incident that began my love affair with shoes, and especially heels. Salvatore Ferragamo is still one of my favorite makers due to the quality and style of the products. Their handmade shoes for men and women have a very timeless quality. I have had these for years and they are still in very good condition. The brand always has a number of heels and flats that are perfect for any occasion, durable, and very reasonably priced.

The is nothing in the WASP wardrobe more pompous than the double breasted blazer, and I absolutely love them. We have featured them on the blog in the past, and today we are revisiting the subject.

The jacket can be worn with khakis, flannels, cream trousers, and even jeans. Heck, the jacket even looks pompous with jeans. At this point, I have spent all I can on my winter wardrobe, but next year, I may invest in a flannel four button double breasted blazer.

Since I referenced Oxford heels in my previous post, I thought it would be the perfect moment to elaborate on the subject. Although most of my time is spent in flats, I absolutely adore heels. These are some of my new favorites. Classic flat Oxfords are also worn by women, however, I find them to be a bit too masculine for my taste. Oxford heels are a perfect combination of masculinity with a feminine edge. Although there are many popular color combinations of two- tone Oxfords, I much prefer the classic solid brown.

Oxford heels transition nicely between any season, except summer of course. They are easily paired with tights and a (longer) skirt. Oxford heels with a pencil skirt, silk blouse, pearls, and a cardigan come together to make the perfect ensemble for a casual dinner out.

A plaid skirt and a white blouse with a black bow is probably one of the most classic combinations for women. It is simple, elegant, and can be drastically altered by accessories and by the choice of shoe. I am not a huge fan of this girl's bag or the shade of her heels but the skirt and blouse combination is perfect. I would recommend a pair of oxford heels to complete the look. They are another stolen from the boys item, but with the feminine addition of a heel.

The time has come for me to pay my respects to the most classic handbag of all; the Hermès Birkin bag. Named after Jane Birkin, it is not only a beautifully handcrafted and perfectly functional handbag, but it is an absolute icon. The price and the waitlist on this bag also adds to its allure and makes it one of the most coveted items in women's fashion. Although recent pop celebrities have made the Birkin more popular, it has still been able to keep its classic and elegant style. It comes in many different variety of exotic leathers; my favorite being ostrich. Sadly, I have not yet made the investment, but it is soon to come!

As we made our way down 5th my friend wanted to stop in the Tommy Hilfiger flagship, so I begrudgingly accompanied her. I have never been a Tommy Hilfiger fan, but apparently it is highly well regarded in France for the younger crowd so she picked up a couple of items for her little brother. I knew that TH had been making an attempt at remodeling their brand image but I was surprised to see the extent to which they had changed. I saw pieces, especially in men's sportscoats that they were really quite the effort in improving the styles. However, you could still tell that the quality and detailing was not up to standards. What do you think of the changes to Tommy Hilfiger?

So, its our first post in 2012, and we will hit the road running with two versatile coats I received for Christmas. The first is a slender cut Polo Ralph Lauren sport coat with elbow patches, and the second is a Fitzgerald, Social Primer, Limited Edition Blazer from Brooks Brothers.

Of course the navy blazer is a WASPs exoskeleton, but this blazer is equipped with narrow lapels, slim fit, patch pockets, and a super awesome hunt scene lining.

The tweed jacket is equally versatile, as I was able to remove my exoskeleton and place the tweed jacket on without changing other pieces. This jacket is also cut in a slender build, and the lapels are also narrow.

Another year has come and passed, and we here at WASP 101 want to wish you a Happy New Year! It is hard to believe that I started this blog back in 2008, and we are still going strong and continuing to grow readers. I also want to thank the author of Preppy: Cultivating Ivy Style for giving our blog a positive reference in their new book.

The year 2011 was a unique year for the blog. We started off slow due to my busy work schedule, but we were able to revamp the blog this past fall. We started by posting on nearly a daily basis again, changing our sites design, adding two new authors, and ridding ourselves of the anonymous gang.

I never need an excuse to head in to the city, but this Christmas my best friend came in for a visit from her home in Provence. Our schedules rarely overlap so it was nice to spend the holiday together.

She and I both share a love of the finer things in life and our trip left nothing to be desired. There is something about spending an afternoon strolling on Madison Avenue with a great friend, shopping at some of the most incredible stores in the world and indulging in our favorite Ladurée macarons, that can make everything else in the world just disappear.

WASPs are not known for showing emotions or public displays of affection. For yours truly, some have described me as a heartless animal. And though I agree with these sentiments somewhat, I do not desire to harm others or cause displeasure for anyone. Harnessing such malice is certainly not healthy. With me, I just don't show many emotions, and I have always been notorious for bottling them up.

So, perhaps one of my New Years Resolutions will be to show the occasional emotion. Now, don't get me wrong, I will not start crying on command. I don't cry period! But, I will at least make the attempt to smile more!

Cable Knit Sweaters~ by Kipp

Pulling on a cashmere cable knit sweater at the start of fall is one of the warmest and coziest feelings that can be created by an article of clothing. Normally I prefer variety in ones clothing, however, cable knit sweaters and OCBDs are two items that you should buy in (almost) every color possible.

Like many preppy staples the cable knit is a piece that can easily transition between very masculine and very feminine. As always, it all depends on how you style an item. Look for cable knits in bright colors, especially like the red that the woman is wearing above. The brighter the colors the more feminine, and the more you can play with what you pair it with.

So, on that note, I am off to sit by the fireplace in a hunter green cable knit sweater, a glass of cabernet, and my loved one. I suggest you all do likewise!

A lot of families in the United States love to have touch football games when they commune, and the photo above demonstrates appropriate attire for such a game. However, I would remove my polo coat because if anyone happen to tackle me while playing, I would have to hurt them.

I hate to continue to use Blair Waldorf as an example, but she really does provide great images of womenswear.

I have always had difficulties in the winter with hats. Though very necessary, they can easily be disastrous and unattractive, like those horrid little beanie hats. This year I have decided to return to the 1920s and wear a cloche hat. Make sure you purchase one made out of wool for it to be functional as well as a beautiful addition.

If you took my previous advice and purchased a brightly colored peacoat, I suggest you stick to a darker cloche. I recently acquired a gray one similar to the one above and an adorable black one with a cream band and bow. Do not make the mistake of thinking these hats dated. They are flattering on most everyone and are the best way to keep warm in the winter! However, the style of hat is not purely for winter. Change the materials used and you have a perfect hat for your next derby or polo match.

Understated Elegance ~ by Kipp

There is so much that I love in this outfit. It is well put together, but not overdone. I enjoy a go to hell item as much as Richard, but there is something wonderful and elegant in this understated ensemble.

Ruffles are probably my favorite accent on a blouse and this lavender cascade of ruffled fabric is not a shy accent. Although capes are not my favorite type of jacket due to their untailored and awkward angles, this woman has been able to pull it off properly. Capes seem to have made a slight come back this season; however, I always prefer a peacoat.

Although individually these pieces are not a likely combination, they come together and create a sense of fluidity and unity. Do not make the common mistake of making the same outfits out of your clothing. Take them out and mix them up. You will see new combinations and possibilities that you never would have before!

The other night, I went out to one of my yuppie bar hangouts, and I tested the prep shcool blazer out with a casual look. I paired the blazer with a pink university stripe oxford cloth button down, jeans, and brown velvet slippers. And, believe it or not, I was complimented by several young ladies. I wish I had taken a photo of myself wearing the getup, but I just didn't have time. Thumbs up to the casual getup with the blazer.

Although I always prefer painting to photography as an artistic medium, this image is simply stunning. Every time I revisit it I notice a new element and I am fascinated. The environment of an auction itself is invigorating, the thrill of not only acquiring a new piece but knowing that you outdid your opponents.

Of course, this image is sartorially fantastic. The men are impeccable, and the woman's dress is something that I covet today. I wish gloves in general were used more, they are such a versatile addition. The use of driving gloves has made a bit of a return, but never to the full impact that this accessory could have.

Another aspect that I love about this image is the power of the lone woman in a sea of men. She has her own card and placing her own bids. She stands out from the men not only with the sharp contrast in her white dress but with her beauty as well.

Well, it finally arrived, and I couldn't be happier! The jacket is absolutely perfect, but I can honestly say it is tough to wear. The image above looks appropriate, but I do look like I just walked off the campus of a prepatory school (not sure that's a good thing). I guess that is why they called it a prep school blazer. However, I think the jacket would look great at university parties or even a regatta. In addition, the jacket would look more appropriate for adults with jeans or khakis, and ditching the tie. The yellow piping is very loud, and one could easily go wild with this jacket. So, be forgiving.....more to come!

If there was a good thing that came from the publication of Preppy: Cultivating Ivy Style, it was the reminder to the world that Brooks Brothers once made a really cool prep school blazer. And fortunately, Brooks Brothers decided to remake this blazer. If I am not mistaken, this blazer was first introduced to the United States in the 1940s, and fortunately, I was able to secure one this week. I absolutely cannot wait for this jacket to arrive! It is prepped with a Milano Slim Fit, no darts, and 3/2 roll. Stay tuned!

I really hate that I missed out on buying the Tweed Run Slippers featured in the middle at Rugby this year. I honestly just couldn't stomach spending $500 on a pair of slippers I would seldom wear, but I must say they are beautiful. Perhaps, I can find a pair when the beginning of the year sale begins, but it is doubtful since they are no longer available on-line.

However, I was successful in acquiring one of the prep school blazers featured at Brooks Brothers. The blazer is a remake of the blazer featured on Preppy: Cultivating Ivy Style. I literally got the last blazer they had, and fortunately, it was a 40R. I cannot wait to feature it on the blog.

Today, I took presents to all the kids who live in my neighborhood, and of course, I have to make my annual donation to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. However, a funny thing happened today when one of the kids greeted me at the door by exclaiming, "you are not Santa Claus!" My response to the child was, "you are correct, I am not Santa but rather his preppy brother Richard." The kid replied, "Santa has a brother." Yes, I replied and Merry Christmas :)

Christmas season is naturally my favorite time of the year. The decorating, the parties, the concerts, and mistletoe; what more could a girl want! Along with the increase in social events comes a need for special holiday items. Not that I need an excuse to wear tartan, but this season makes it even more exciting to pull out your favorite prints. The skirt above is one of my favorites. Although it does not have much green, with the appropriate accessories it can become very festive.

Normally, since this is a longer skirt I would have worn heels, however, the event I attended was a bit more conservative in nature and seeing as I went without hosiery, heels would have been too much. I also paired this with a red double banded headband to add a bit more color to the ensemble.

A couple years back, I played a gentleman that I absolutely despise and to protect identities, I will not refer to any of the back story. However, though I present a weak overall game, I do have a vicious first serve. And, with a bit of luck, I managed to place one of my first serves right in the foes crotch. Sure, the serve was out, but I scored a million points with that hit in my mind!

Flat boots make the most comfortable and warm footwear choice in the winter. My favorite pair are two-tone riding boots. Not only are they comfortable and practical, but they look stunning and can complete a plethora of outfit options. The brown and the black make them extremely versatile and even look great with a pair of tucked in skinny jeans. However, as always, keep your jeans dark, with no distress, and heaven forbid, holes!

Continuing my talks of proportions on the leg, the pair above, like my own, are cut at an angle. This lengthens the calf and does not cross the silhouette at the center. Boots that stop right under the knee sans this angle make your legs look wider and break up the fluidity of an ensemble.

The equestrian look is something that will never go out of style and will always look put together. Remember, always go for something classic over trendy.

Five years ago, I was introduced to a show that had a lot of promise, Gossip Girl. Sure, the title seems feminine, but it only refers to a girl who runs a blog that tracks the elite private school and super preppy kids of the upper-eastside.

However, ever since the characters have graduated from high school, the show has dropped off my radar significantly. Sure, I still watch, but I haven't been interested in a while. Rather than taking the characters down their collegiate path, the show never focuses on their academic career. According to the show, they still attend but the story lines are never placed there. I mean come on, how many eighteen year olds run a billion dollar business (Chuck's story).

Finally, the clothes........Chuck Bass has lost his preppiness, and I have only seen one outfit worn by Blair this season that made me say, wow! So, Gossip Girl, if you need a writer or designer to give you a boost, give me a call. Otherwise, I think you may find yourself out of business really soon!

Blackwatch always brings back memories of my old school uniform, but this skirt has a more grown up twist. I paired it simply for Thanksgiving dinner at my parent’s home and took advantage of taking a picture in their library. I was wearing a classic OCBD in pale yellow and pearls with simple grey suede flats.

I cannot get enough of the fact that this skirt has a bit of a ruffle on the hip. Since it is on the shorter side, it has to be worn with flats and not heels. Always keep the proportion on your leg in mind. If I were to wear heels with this it would look vulgar. If the skirt were knee length then it would require heels in order to elongate my leg and for me not to look too matronly.

The blackwatch can be easily paired with almost any color. I feel I may even wear a pink OCBD next time I wear the skirt out. However, if you want to tone down the schoolgirl look I have also worn it with a pussybow blouse for a more put together and older look.

Remember, plaid can be done with out looking like a school girl. Do not be afraid to borrow the tartan from your youth and wear it today!

Even though it is getting to be winter it does not mean you have to stick to blacks and grey. In fact, I whole- heartedly encourage you not to be bland and dreary. Just because it is not spring it does not mean that these types of colors are out of bounds. The traditional winter and spring color palette are good guidelines but not rules. My favorite way to incorporate color in the winter is a bright and bold wool peacoat. A red such as the one shown above and a mustard yellow are my two favorite hues for winter coats. They also go perfectly with your favorite OCBD and tartan plaid skirt!

Your winter coats are the most visible and vital part of your ensembles during the winter months. Why would you ever want to wear something as boring as black?

As Thanksgiving (the forgotten holiday) approaches, we are quickly entering the Christmas Holiday Party Season. Of course the season is a wonderful time to sport tartan, drink egg nog, and kiss under the mistletoe!

However, some may not feel comfortable wearing heavy tartan, and for those people, I suggest a subtle houndstooth tweed or a double breasted blazer (cashmere DB in photo). Either choice will look appropriate for the season, but neither will scream look at me.

This is a fun question if I do say so myself. Yes, WASP style is always conservative and proper. However, there is an element of secret sexuality that can, and should be explored. Personally, I quite enjoy wearing thigh highs such as the Wolford ones above. The lace is an essential choice since it gives more of a romantic and sexy touch.

The crucial element lies in how you wear them. They should NEVER be exposed. To the normal passerby it should appear that you are wearing full tights. They are to be enjoyed only by you and the lucky gentleman in your life. Therein lies the key to properly combining conservative elements with a little rebellion!

With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, it is time to start thinking about Holiday attire. One of my favorite holiday items is tartan, and in this photo, I am sporting my tartan wool bow tie. My advice is to only sport one tartan item at a time (sport coat, trousers, tie, etc.) Unless, you are brave enough to go for a full tartan suit, which I have often contemplated. If you choose this route, my advice is to stick with a dark tartan like Blackwatch.

We have been experiencing some unseasonably warm weather, which to me, is highly disappointing. However, it did allow me to wear my new Brooks Brothers lambswool shorts. I will continue to wear them in colder weather, but tights will be necessary!

At this time of the year there is always some fluctuation in weather. Even if it is the 65 degrees we endured today one has to be season appropriate. These shorts are the perfect way to incorporate fall fabrics and colors with a traditionally warm weather classic. They are a luscious green broken bone herringbone, as you can see below.

I normally do not like to wear shorts at all, I much prefer skirts. It is truly the cuff that make these shorts perfect. The cut is very well fitting and I love that they are high-waisted. The shorts are a tad bit on the short side as well, but they are just long enough to be conservative and flirty. They are quickly becoming one of my new favorite items!

Jewelry is one of my favorite reasons for being a woman. Gentlemen, yes, you have the signet ring but we have so much more. Jewelry can be the most complete expression of who you are conveyed through a material possession. It is of even greater value when passed down through generations and is a statement of your familial ties.

However, with jewelry, I honestly believe that there should be a piece that you always wear. May it be your favorite diamond or pearl studs, or a necklace, this item will become your signature. A token that shows your loyalty, who you are, a sense of meaning, and tradition. It should not be your engagement/wedding ring.

Personally, I have three stacked rings (above) that I hold dear and that create my perfect signature item. I have always been partial to rings. When I was finally given this set after my grandmother’s passing I have yet to let a day go by that I do not wear them.

Your signature item must be something that is simple yet elegant. Something that is appropriate for everyday use without ever looking vulgar.

I must confess to enjoying wearing my old college scarf -- it is not only a way to subtly show your support for alma mater, it is also a way to stay warm!! There is nothing I love more on a cold and rainy day like today than my Burberry scarf and trench. It is a timeless combination that men and women should have in their wardrobe. The trench is one of the most functional pieces I own and no matter what you combine it with, never fails to complete any look.

However, this post is on the classic Burberry plaid. It has come under fire recently as Burberry has been adopted by the masses and has done some of the ridiculous prints and pieces. The only items that should be the full plaid are the scarf and umbrella. The clothing and handbags I have from Burberry only have a delicate lining or pipping of the plaid. It is never elegant or WASPy to have obnoxious displays of branding; no matter the quality of the item.

Personally, I adore my giant cashmere plaid scarf, like the one shown above. Scarves are my favorite accessory (after jewelry of course) and never fear, I will dedicate at least an entire post to them. So ladies, and gentleman alike, I urge you make your Burberry scarf and trench the staples of your wardrobe this fall.

Halloween is not a WASPy holiday but the upcoming event gives me an opportunity to tell a story that demonstrates the known fact that every WASP family has an eccentric among them. In this particular case, my aunt is the subject of eccentricity.

My aunt is a antique car collector, and for the most part, I enjoy her collection. However, I will never forget the year that she added an antique hearse to her fleet. The car is perhaps the spookiest car I have ever laid my eyes on, and to this day, I refuse to step near it.

Being the eccentric she is, every Halloween, my aunt pulls the hearse out of her car storage area and parks it in the front yard. She then proceeds to pull the stretcher out of the back of the hearse, only to place a coffin on top. To make things worse, she then lays a dummy in the coffin to give the impression of a dead body lying inside.

As trick-or-treaters arrive on Halloween, they are terrified but unfortunately, there is more! As the children approach the porch, they encounter a witch (my aunt) standing beside a stump with a fake amputated arm holding the basket of candy. Wow, is all I know to say, and though I love my aunt, she is clearly our family's eccentric being.

Today I had the special pleasure of running into Richard! Every once in a while our paths cross due to our profession and we end up at the same event. Today was a special charity luncheon that my company was hosting and since we are one of Richard's clients he was of course present.

Richard was looking dashing as always, and I was delighted that he was dressed in his new Harris Tweed, Fitzgerald fit, sport coat. I am happy that I got to witness it in person, because honestly, no picture could do it justice. On closer analysis you can see that the multigrain strands are woven with a surprising mix of colors that allows one to pair this jacket with just about anything.

I was simply dressed in a winter white all lace dress which I wore with red satin ballet flats and a red silk plaid scarf tied as a headband in my hair.

A dear friend of mine recently introduced me to Matchbook Magazine and I am officially addicted! It is a new digital publication that started in January of 2011 and has become quite popular. It is a monthly publication and I can hardly wait to see what they do for November and the upcoming holiday season.

Matchbook describes itself as a “field guide to a charmed life,” and it is just that. The articles are very well written and highlight people and places that are quintessentially WASP. I especially enjoy the layouts featuring clothing, accessories, and furniture that are of preppy and classic taste. It is a joy to read and I recommend that everyone take a moment of their day to sit back with a lovely cup of tea to read WASP 101 and Matchbook Magazine.

For the life of me, I don't understand why frat boy types herd toward the baseball cap masses. But then again, it is obvious that most of them have little style, and they simply adopt trademark looks to fit in with their pack. And though, I eschew most hats, if I am to wear one, it is always an Ivy Cap. I own two, one in tartan plaid and the other in gray donegal.

Brooks Brothers has a very nice Ivy Cap this season in patchwork tweed, but I just can't see myself paying $98 for something I will only wear a handful of times. Plus, I remember that Chensvold character wearing something similar a year or so ago, and I certainly would not want to be mistaken for him. Eh, I guess I will just pass on the patchwork hat for now.

Today, my extremely wealthy friend who has his own private plane called and asked if I wanted to fly into Georgetown this afternoon for dinner at his favorite spot, Rugby Cafe. Of course, I replied by saying yes, and I decided to ditch the jeans for a while and dress in my full regalia. In the photo I am wearing:

Also, I wanted to take the chance to preview one piece of my holiday attire. I recently purchased a pair of paneled tartan trousers from Brooks Brothers. I plan to wear these holday trousers to a a semi-formal event at a friends home. The plan is to pair the trousers with a tuxedo jacket (probably single breasted, not sure yet), tuxedo shirt with straight collar, tartan bow tie, and black velvet slippers with my initials. I promise to show the outfit once it is displayed.

Lately, I have not been handling a lot of clients, and I have just been roaming around town having tea and meeting with chums. Therefore, I haven't really dressed to the nines of late, and for me, my sweatpants are jeans. Perhaps, one might even consider jeans to be the new GTH pants for WASPs. Denim has certainly been visible in many advertising campaigns, which includes Brooks Brothers. As I write this, I can already see the comments from the troll community, but that is okay. They have been at me for four years now, and obviously they have not educated themselves to know they just simply do not bother me. While they are sitting in their basement eating a twinkie, telling me how fat I am, I simply respond by saying eh, whatever. Anyway, enough time wasted on the trolls.

This past weekend, Rugby Ralph Lauren hosted the first annual Tweed Run at their flagship store in New York. I sincerely wish I could have attended this event, and if that were possible, it would have capped a wonderful birthday weekend. The pictures I have seen from the event are remarkable, and I have never seen so many combinations of tweed accompanied by patrons smoking pipes and drinking from fine china.

Also, a delightful young lady named Jamie Beck was at the event, and if you have not checked out her blog (From Me To You), I highly recommend doing so. Besides being absolutely beautiful, she is a wonderful photographer. Also, she know how to dress well, and she does wonderful inspired photos in a section called, Daily Photos.

Moleskin Trousers Unveiled - by Richard

Here are the moleskin trousers I referred to in an earlier post! The pants are terrific in my opinion, and I especially love the nap of these trousers. Moleskin is a great alternative to corduroy, and it looks great with tweed or a flannel blazer.

Posing above my dog's blanket at the door, the trousers were worn with suede tassel loafers. My pup has been sick the past couple days, but a blanket and a sunbeam always perks him up a bit.

Inspired by Richard’s appreciation for women in bowties, I decided to take on the challenge myself. The women who decide to try out this bold menswear look should remember two helpful hints: First, layering is essential for balancing out your neckpiece to avoid looking like a schoolmarm or playboy bunny (a WASPY woman is neither of these extremes). Layering adds dimension to your outfit so that the eye isn’t immediately drawn to your neck; the bowtie should add to your overall look, not steal the show. Second, at least one other element of your outfit should be distinctly ladylike. Whether you decide to do that with color (pink!), fabric (lace), or a body hugging pencil skirt like I did, a girlish component balances out a traditionally masculine bowtie. Of course, I never oppose to topping the look off with a feminine headband and pearls either!

My habit of borrowing from menswear does not stop at bowties. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present my favorite new loafers! I am absolutely addicted to their comfortable insoles and sumptuous leather. Women before me have long known that loafers are an essential to the WASP look. Throw them on with a skirt or dress for a look that is fresh, not forced.

So, ladies, do not be afraid to dig around in your husband’s/boyfriend’s closet and try a bowtie out for yourselves! Wear it confidently; you’ll be turning heads in no time!

William Buckley Jr. was always known for his conservative beliefs, patrician voice, and WASP style. He wore OCBDs shirts, and again, spoke with such elegance. He was born a WASP.

Hugh Hefner embraced the Ivy League style, and masterfully made selling photographs of nude women classy. He dressed as if he walked off the campus of Princeton, and he was photographed with his pipe in hand for more than 20 years. Sure, I would not call Hefner a role model, actually, he was nothing more than a smut peddler. Regardless, both men had class (well at least Buckley) and style.

I just wish that Buckley had in fact smashed Gore Vidal in the face (different interview)! Classic, just classic.......

WASPs like all inhabitants of earth, grow old and age as the years pass. This past weekend (yesterday), I turned 34 years old. To most teenagers, this age would seem rather old, but actually, I still feel very young. It is amazing though to see how we change throughout the years. Even though WASPs are born innately with tradition in their blood, our taste mature and change ever so delicately as we age.

This upcoming year of my life, I plan to do some things I have always dreamed of doing. Also, I promise to continue my work with WASP 101, and help this site grow to what I always envisioned it would. We have brought on two new writers, and who knows, maybe Worthington will rise from the ashes before we know it!

So, to all my readers, let me say thank you! I truly do appreciate you all reading my ramblings each day.
